Our Modular: the Kitchen

If you would have told me a year ago that we would be living in a modular home when we were contemplating selling our house… I would have laughed in your face. But now that is our reality, and I couldn’t love it more.

Next up on our home tour is our beautiful kitchen!

From the stainless steel farmhouse sink, to the spacious *soft-close* cupboards, to the center island…to the amazing arched window…this is my place. I spend so much time here every day, mostly cleaning (haha) but it’s a great place to be.

I always dreamed of a big enough kitchen and dining room area to have guests over, since our old 806sqft house didn’t have such a thing (our master bathroom in this house is bigger than our kitchen and dining area in our old house, to give you an idea!)

I always dreamed of a big enough kitchen to dance in, make memories in, and grow plants in. So far, this modular home kitchen has exceeded those dreams.

I picked a marble look-alike laminate countertop, subway tile backsplash, and beautiful handmade cupboards, and of course stainless steel appliances. The pantry *isn’t* my dream walk-in pantry, but it holds our food without having to put it on top of the fridge, so I’m pleased. (We used a closet in the laundry room as our “second pantry” and that works well for canned goods and things that last longer.)

The center island is massive and AWESOME. We still need some bar stools, but for now it’s okay.

I also chose this beautiful linoleum flooring that I LOVE. It gives us the look of barn wood for much cheaper, and every person that comes in our home notices it right away.

Besides lots of plants, I love my simple decor. Macrame, and a farmhouse sign. Trying not to have clutter is an issue because there is actually SO much space (which I’m definitely NOT complaining about, I’ve just never had so much space that I have to be careful with it!)

I love this kitchen, so much. It adds so much to our home.
