This Thanksgiving, I’m only having one piece of pie!

The holidays are coming up, and if you like pie…read on…(or if you have one hand in your child’s trick-or-treat bag—this is for you.)

I read that everyone has an addiction to something. I laughed when I read the word everyone because certainly I did not have one.

Then looking into the trash can in my bathroom…I discovered mine. Sugar.

Ever since I had C, especially while I was pregnant with her, I CRAVED sugar. (Which is funny because when I was pregnant with Z, I was repulsed by anything sweet at all!) I could literally eat sweets and candy all day long. (Especially when I’m bored or lonely…sugar makes me “happy”.)

It was seriously bad.

Then I found Sweet Defeat. I was hoping for a collaboration with them for awhile, because I knew I had a problem but I was too afraid that nothing would help…but IF it did, I’d want to share with y’all.

So I decided to go in 100%.

I did research on the ingredients in Sweet Defeat and felt it was a safe, natural way of stopping my sugar cravings.

Sweet Defeat is a patented lozenge that is clinically proven to reduce consumption of and desire for sugary foods. Sugar cravings start in the taste buds – after having a bite of something sweet, your brain automatically craves more. Sweet Defeat works by blocking the taste of sugar for up to an hour to stop those cravings before they begin! It can be taken after a meal or throughout the day whenever it feels like a sugar craving is coming on. Sweet Defeat is made of high quality, plant-based ingredients and can be used by anyone who’s looking to eat cleaner and live healthier.

The lozenge binds to sweet taste receptors in the taste buds, suppresses sweet taste, and helps reduce sugar cravings in seconds.

So yeah…I know. It sounds amazing. But is it legit?

Here’s how it all went down:

Night ONE

I had dinner the night I got the box. After dinner I immediately went over to my “mama candy jar” and instead of taking something from it, I put a lozenge on my tongue and let it dissolve.

It had a powerful spearmint flavor and near the end, sort of a bitter taste, but nothing terrible. The Gymnema Leaf extract is where the bitterness comes from—it’s known to suppress sugar cravings (The Hindi name for gymnema means “destroyer of sugar.”)

I’m not even kidding you, immediately after the lozenge was dissolved, I walked away from the candy jar and never went back to it that night.

Day TWO

When I woke up the next morning, I went to find something to eat and all I wanted was sugar. A Reese peanut butter pumpkin…YUM. Instead I dissolved another lozenge and made scrambled eggs. That day, anytime I craved sugar, I put a Sweet Defeat in my mouth instead.

I had no desire to eat any of the cookies I made (what!!!!) and I didn’t eat one piece of candy.

Day THREE

I didn’t wake up wanting anything sweet…which was the first time that happened in….so so long. I had two lozenges that day (once after lunch and once after dinner) and had no desire to eat dessert that night. The ice cream my husband offered me didn’t even sound appetizing.

Day FOUR

Waking up on day four, I was excited that I didn’t wake up desiring sweets again. I didn’t take a lozenge the entire day. I had a bite of cream cheese tart and actually felt like it was too sweet and I couldn’t eat it.

Take all that info, if you will, as either good or bad. But I’ll take it as good.

On day four, I did a little test…to make sure this product didn’t ruin my love of Reese peanut butter pumpkins…and I ate one. I can assure you it did not ruin anything…I still LOVE them, I just don’t crave them.

Now they are what they are…a TREAT.

So if you ask me, Sweet Defeat is good for my pocket book (because less candy purchases) and great for my health!!

I’m very much looking forward to running into this holiday season with open arms and a non-sweet-tooth mindset, because I think Thanksgiving and Christmas are hard times not to indulge in #AllTheDessert. It’s not always easy to say “no” to Apple pie and pumpkin pie and pecan pie and apple crisp and (insert your favorite holiday dessert here) but this year, I will be combatting Thanksgiving with Sweat Defeat to keep myself on the healthy track. It’s so easy to derail when you’re standing before the dessert table and wondering how many slices you can fit on one plate. With Sweet Defeat, one small slice will suffice, and you’ll be much happier at the end of the day.

Thanks to Sweet Defeat for saving me from myself…and from all the sweets!
