At 27 years of age, I feel like I’ve learned a lot.
One of the most important things I’ve learned is I cannot do anything on my own. I am weak. I am broken. I am only human, living in the flesh.
God meets me right where I am, and my friends, I pray He meets you wherever you are, as well. There is nothing too big for Him to handle, give Him your burdens and He will help make your load light.
I didn’t get to this place overnight. It’s taken years.
But don’t grow weary! Your journey, wherever you are, is right where you need to be. Allow God to use you, allow Him to change you and break you and heal you.
Whether you’re dealing with loss, buried feelings, broken friendships or family relationships, eating problems, anger issues, motherhood troubles…and everything in between…don’t do it alone. Life is already hard enough, allow yourself to break down those walls and let someone in. Someone that will love you and care for you and pray over you and desire the best for you, someone that will meet you where you’re at and say “hey, you’ve got this…I’ve been there and I know you’re strong enough to get through it…let’s get through it together.”
But grow through it. Don’t just get through it, grow through it.
I want you to know that you’re not alone. Whether you’re on a motherhood journey, spiritual journey, sickness journey…whether you know Jesus as your Savior or not…you’re not alone. Look around you, we’re all on journeys, we’re all struggling. Maybe there are tears, maybe there are walls…maybe your heart is guarded and that’s okay. Maybe you’re in the middle of a season where it feels like every day you do the same thing over and over and over and over…maybe you’re quite sick of living that way…
Just, wherever you are, keep going. Baby steps or big leaps, both move you forward.
Reach out to someone, swallow your pride, lay it all out there, let someone in. I guarentee you it’ll be hard, and it’ll probably hurt, but our bodies don’t respond well to keeping things inside. Feel that peace come over you when you let it out.
Find your person, the one who gives you a nudge to be better, the one who desires to grow with you, the one who walks beside you without judgement and sometimes without even having to say anything…find your person that takes your hand and encourages you on your motherhood journey, the one that loves you like crazy and hurts when you hurt and rejoices with you.
I don’t believe God designed us to go on journeys alone, and I’m not talking about your spouse. I’m talking about friendship, mama friends, people that help “spur you on with love and good deeds”…I’m talking about a friendship that makes you want to be a better wife, mama, sister and daughter, one that breaks down those barriers that are keeping the flood from rushing out. Find that person.
At the end of typing all of this, I’ve realized I have a lot of repetition in here, and that’s because that’s what we need. We need to keep showing up, day in and day out, and remembering that we can’t do this without God, and that we are never alone, and that people who give of their precious time to help grow with you are the kind of people we need around.
I’m here to pray for you, I’m here to encourage you that you’re not alone and that God WILL take those burdens off your shoulders, He WILL give you rest…RUN TO HIM. Fall on your knees and just cry out to God. Maybe you don’t have the words, and that’s okay, because He knows your heart.
Be richly blessed, my friends. xo
