When my plan differs from God’s plan.

I knew we wouldn’t live here forever, but I was hoping for at least five years.

I was also hoping for our kids to be two years apart in age, but we all know that didn’t happen.

And I was even hoping we’d be living in a warm, sunny place (aka: Florida) but I believe that didn’t work out because we are meant to be here, in the mitten. Continue reading

Our home is small.

It’s not a tiny house, which I would adore someday, but it is small.

And I’ve learned a lot of things from living in this small home of ours (and I’ve learned a lot of things from watching ‘Fixer Upper’ while baby naps!) One of those things is: clutter is a no-no, minimalism is the way to go. Continue reading

Running for two

I’ve always been a runner.

From an early age, I had shelves and cork boards in my bedroom adorned with trophies and medals showing the world that I ran my little heart out.

I ran for school, I ran races on the weekends, I ran triathlons and ran alongside my mom in her marathon.

And despite constant injuries to different parts of my body every cross country and track season, here I am today, still running.

I’m in a rut.

I feel like I haven’t written in ages.

It has been 24 days.

Here I am, still not having anything to write but feeling confident that as I sit here, typing, the words will just come. I’m going to take a stab and say I’m in a writing rut.
